Podcasts Are the New Blogs
If Orange is the New Black, then Podcasts are the New Blogs. Students today have the unique opportunity to utilize technology to create their own content, and hone their crafts. Blogs could be about anything, and range far from the journalism mentality. People found a way to express themselves…usually by writing. But people have moved on from blogging.
Now, Podcasts are the mainstream. Sure they have been around for over a decade, but now millennials know there is a podcast for everything.
Here’s a statistic from this AdWeek article: Twenty-one percent of Americans age 12 or older say they have listened to a podcast in the past month. That’s a 17 percent increase in the last year and a 75 percent increase since 2013.
Should there be a course on how to host and produce a podcast? Or is it better to do it trial & error?
