Sports is Big Business, But Business Often Follows Sports
Many people in this group have great stories about how they are either in the sports world, or want to be. There are plenty examples of the latter, and often, business leaders look to sports for inspiration. Warren Buffett may be an expert in the business world, but there’s a great article on Medium that shows that a 1977 book by Baseball Legend Ted Williams led to Buffett’s incredible drive for excellence.
It’s interesting to note that the Columbia Sports Program has been lauded as a great vehicle into the sports world. I just think the science of Ted Williams batting stroke might be the next lecture they need to produce.
